A Video Card For Those That Want The Best

A couple of weeks ago we were allowed to post a 'preview' of the ASUS MARS 2 video card. Today, we follow up that preview with a look at the performance of this video card. The ASUS MARS 2 retails for $1499.99 plus $10.60 for shipping! Not everyone is going to spend this time of cash on a video card, so rather than putting it against a ton of other video cards we will just be comparing it to the AMD Radeon HD 6990 with the jumper on the card set to the overclocked position. We also didn't do any testing on a single monitor and used three Dell monitors each set at 1920x1080 resolution for a total display area of 5760 x 1080. If you are going to spend $1500 on a video card you are likely going to be using three display panels! This gave us a chance to look both AMD Eyefinity and NVIDIA multi-display Surround Technology with our triple display setup. We thought this would be of interest for those in a market to buy a high-end graphics card like either of these!

I’ll be hitting up ASUS maintenance in the next few days, and will update this march past or add comments as things in operation.

Up until now, I’ve been very exultant with this monitor and would certainly have presupposed it 4 stars. I’m giving it 2 stars as opposed to of 1 eminent because it did so well. I might waning it depending on how ASUS assignment deals with this monitor.

Well, the monitor has gone to the ASUS adjust alacrity and returned to me (with about a 2-week lag, and not the best clothes online message heedless of whether the monitor had been shipped or not), and it worked in fairness out of the box.

And then it didn’t. After putting my MacBook Pro to log a few zees Z's and waking it up I found… the flickering Insidious shroud of dying. After jiggling, I was clever to get the monitor working, but this happens now every previously I either put the computer to catch or unhook the monitor cable (which connects to a DisplayPort adapter). I’ve updated the video; more to carry on in a little while.

The monitor had a very winsome essence for the month that it was functioning. When it went malignant on the spur of the moment, I was sent into the ASUS Purchaser Advantage impenetrable depths. All phone calls seemed to send me back to the website… which was inept. I completely managed to get an RMA and sent the monitor back at my outlay. After 5 weeks with no email or calls as to the repute of the monitor, I done received my hypothetically repaired monitor back. Blacks are red. The represent supremacy is loathsome with ghosting and flickering everywhere. Evidently nobody even looked at the monitor after “repairing” it.

I will look for a refund and will never advantage ASUS products again.

Well, I was shopping for a new monitor to upgrade my 15 inch lcd. After shopping around, I saw this monitor and instantly was intrigued. A 24 inch monitor for less than 200 dollars seemed a small shabby. But anyone who knows about computers can explain you that Asus is no scanty name. So I gave it a matters, and I don’t dolour refusal it! This monitor looks prodigious with computer games, it has all the computer inputs you penury as well as HDMI! Hooking an Xbox 360 through this looks nothing but as positive as my 1080p 42″ tv. Even my HDMI DVR box looks incomparable with this monitor. The buttons intuit a infinitesimal for twopence on this, but when do you ever use them? This monitor is a intelligent pick to put by the most in and have the same attribute as a $400 monitor. I get compliments about this monitor from people who paid way more for an HP or Dell monitor. If you are the least bit interested in this output, buy it!
