華碩電脳（ＡＳＵＳ）がスマートフォン事業から撤退するもようだ。今月中にもタブレット端末事業に統合し、２製品を融合した「Padfone（パッドフォン）」に軸足を移す。世界金融危機以降では２度目の組織編成。同社はタブレット端末の販売が堅調に伸びており、今年の出荷目標を150万〜200万台に上方修正した。

沈振来執行長が26日の第２四半期業績説明会で明らかにした。スマホを手掛ける「モバイル装置事業部」をタブレット端末を含む「システム製品事業部」に統合する。これに伴い、モバイル装置事業部の人員800〜900人も移籍させる。
